New Cook :)

Well, well, we have a new cook at Butler’s Brittle.  I finally decided to let someone else besides me learn the “secret” to cooking LUSCIOUS brittle….and it’s no other than the Office Manager Lauren.  We had to make some yesterday evening to ship to Arkansas and we also had an order for a birthday basket.  Check out the picture below and let us know what you think.  I hope the 82 year old recipient will enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it!  But back to Lauren and her cooking experience, I must say she is a fast learner.  The first stage or the “threading stage” is the hardest to learn, because you think it’s ready and then when you do the “test” it’s not quite there, but she is doing very well.  I just might have to let her cook a few pots on her own and see how she ends up.  I can tell you that when the pots are being poured, she immediately knows if they are a good color and how they will turn out.  What a keen eye she has!!!  Our packaging manager Kirsten was a little bit messy yesterday, and we had some extra clean up to do, and since we are without our maintenance manager Brent for a while, it was harder than normal.  Hopefully we will have Brent back for our big sale on the 15^th and of course we will have to have him when we prepare for Canton.  That’s all we have to report for now.  Enjoy the beautiful weather.
