MYTH BUSTERS!!!

For all of you new to the “brittle business”, contrary to belief, brittle is cooked in a pot on the stove, not baked in the oven on cookie sheets! Once it has been cooked to perfection, it is spread out on foil until it is cooled and ready for packaging. We thought we would go ahead and dispel the myth that brittle is baked!

Gas is the cooking method of choice; it keeps the candy at a more even tempature. Each "pot" is checked for quality control.  If a pot is not the right color, it gets tossed.  If it does not dry and harden to the right consistency, it gets tossed.  As we always try to make sure that each piece is loaded with peanuts or pecans, the ends that are only the brittle part get tossed into a scrap bag and passed around to friends and family.

Hey!!!! If you're one of those who only like the brittle pot, let us know and we can sell you a really, really big bag for really, really cheap!

For those of you who have said to yourself, "man I really love peanut brittle but I'm not so sure about pecan brittle", well think again.  It is absolutely delicious.  The pecans are spread throughout the brittle, giving it a very sweet taste.  Add in the roasted pecans and you can't lose.  You really need to try it, you'll be addicted!
